PICKLING
The pickling line is used to remove surface oxides (calamine) deriving from the process of hot rolling. The technology used is a bath with a concentration of 13% hydrochloric acid at a temperature of about 80° Celsius. The processing speed is about 180 meters per minute. This process is necessary to ensure the quality of the coils, which later will be processed directly on the cold-rolled galvanizing lines.
ROLLING
Cold rolling allows a constant reduction of the thickness of hot rolled coils by means of the combined action of loading and pulling exerted by four pairs of cylinders. The thicknesses obtained range from 0.25 to 1.5mm. The maximum width is 1.250 mm.
