ArcelorMittal Piombino S.p.A (a joint stock company) is one of the most qualified steel producers on the European scene today. Established in 1891 as the only Italian manufacturer of tinplate, today it is a leader in flat, pre-painted and galvanized steel products. It has been listed on the Italian Stock Exchange for almost a century, and in July of 1998 came under one hundred percent ownership of the Usinor Group, then number one European producer of steel. In February 2002, it became part of the world's leading steel group, Arcelor. In July 2006, the Arcelor Group merged with Mittal Steel, creating the world's foremost steel manufacturer, ArcelorMittal.

ESTABLISHMENT
The Piombino site is situated opposite the island of Elba. ArcelorMittal Avellino, located in San Mango sul Calore (AV) and ArcelorMittal Canossa (RE), are both Subsidiaries of ArcelorMittal Piombino.
If today ArcelorMittal Piombino is considered Italy’s primary producer of flat, galvanized and pre-painted steel, it is thanks to the company’s men and women who have committed themselves to product innovation and customer satisfaction for over one hundred years of the company’s history.
